Founder & CEO, Business Process Expert

Jim is a business process expert and sales and marketing technologist focused on increasing profitability through the automation and integration of marketing, sales, customer service, and accounting.

Jim has over 15 years of experience in business process management and customer experience technology. He has been administering business software, including Salesforce.com, and consulting with companies on business process improvement, sales, and marketing since 2003.

Prior to starting Growth Heroes, Jim was a business advisor to tech companies at the Purdue Research Park. There he spent time helping companies launch their sales and marketing operations, including the proper use of CRM, email marketing, and lead tracking. Before that he led Seyet, a life sciences simulation company, as a co-founder and Director of Marketing and Sales. At Seyet, Jim consulted with clients including Johnson & Johnson, Dow AgroSciences, DePuy Orthopaedics, and other life sciences companies.

Jim is a board member of the Venture Club and previously was involved in running the Hoosier Healthcare Innovation Challenge, The Indiana Biomedical Entrepreneurship Network, and Startup Weekend.

Position Summary

The Salesforce Administrator is a key, advanced, and highly technical support role who delivers declarative Salesforce solutions to multiple clients. This individual enables customers to meet their digital business needs through streamlined automation. The Salesforce Administrator supports Salesforce Consultants on multiple projects concurrently.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Be a part of an Agile project team led by the Salesforce Consultant
  • Attend client meetings to help gather requirements
  • Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign
  • Design and solve technical challenges with declarative solutions
  • Estimate time required to complete assigned tasks and clearly document solution
  • Assist with scoping and documentation

Outcomes/Measures of Success over the next 12 months

  • Deliver work within estimate, client’s budget, and timeline goals
  • Create solutions to complex business problems that are scalable and easily transferrable to the client
  • Maintain open communication with internal teams
  • Keep current work tasks up to date, tagged, and properly documented
  • Enter detailed time logs daily in project management software
  • Maintain and increase high customer satisfaction score (CSAT)

Competencies Desired

The following are core competencies sought to perform these responsibilities:

  • Experience with data cleaning, Data Import Wizard, NPSP Importer, etc.
  • Previous consulting experience managing multiple projects is mandatory
  • Experience working as a remote team member
  • Experience integrating Salesforce.com with other platforms
  • Expert at building solutions with Flow, Process Builder, Workflow, and DLRS
  • Advanced Excel based data cleansing and manipulation of large files

Experience & Certifications

Position Summary

The Salesforce Developer plays a key role in building customized solutions to support critical business functions and meet client objectives and project requirements. This is a small 2-3 person development team. This position will spend the majority of the day on architecture, solutioning, and development in collaboration with Salesforce Consultants and Admins to deliver customer requirements. This role will also be responsible for maintaining Git repositories and the overall deployment process for projects they are involved in.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage delivery and deployment of Salesforce customizations with Agile methodologies
  • Design and solve technical challenges with Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), ensuring high-quality code with meaningful test coverage
  • Communicate with internal team members / coordinate with Project Managers
  • Collaborate with other developers and participate in code reviews
  • Leverage CI/CD automation to speed up the delivery process and improve code quality
  • Determine with PMs when code vs. declarative configuration is worth it

Outcomes/Measures of Success over the next 12 months

  • Increase code quality scores with PMD and Codacy, achieving or maintaining an A, with no Performance, Security or Error Prone warnings
  • Maintain and increase code test coverage, keeping all net new code at 90-100%
  • Reduce and standardize the time it takes to create code with reusable patterns and extending our internal code framework
  • Estimate effort and deliver code based solutions within time promised

Competencies Desired

The following are core competencies sought to perform these responsibilities:

  • Accustomed to being in a fully remote Agile Salesforce.com development team
  • Comfortable with both creating new solutions, and refactoring large codebases
  • Integrating Salesforce.com with other platforms through REST, GraphQL, ETL, External Objects, and events
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Scratch orgs, Gitflow, GitHub Actions, VSCode w/SFDX, Dataloader CLI
  • Previous consulting experience is mandatory

Experience & Certifications

  • 5+ years Salesforce development and admin/platform experience
  • Salesforce certifications: PD1, Javascript Cert, Architecture Certs, additional desired
  • Technical college degree desired, exceptional skills and experience are equally considered

Position Summary

The Salesforce Consultant is a key, client-facing role who identifies pain points and solutions in their business processes.  This individual will be given the opportunity to help customers meet their digital business needs through streamlined automation using salesforce.com solutions.   This position combines Business Analyst, Project Manager, and Advanced Salesforce Administrator into one role.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Guiding clients to appropriate solutions as a trusted advisor
  • Leads requirements development sessions to understand the client’s current state and desired future state
  • Manage delivery and deployment of Salesforce customizations with agile methodologies and delegation to team members
  • Design and solve technical challenges with declarative solutions when indicated
  • Estimate time required to complete assigned tasks and clearly document requirements in order to be transferable to another team member

Outcomes/Measures of Success over the next 12 months

  • Establish and meet clients’ budget and timeline goals
  • Maintain and increase high customer satisfaction score (CSAT)
  • Create solutions to complex business problems that are scalable and easily transferable to the client
  • Maintain open communication with internal teams and keep projects up to date
  • Adhere to a 2-week sprint pattern and organize / tag work properly

Competencies Desired

The following are core competencies sought to perform these responsibilities:

  • Previous consulting experience managing multiple projects is mandatory
  • Management of a remote Salesforce.com Admin team, Scrum / Agile Certification preferred
  • Experience integrating Salesforce.com with other platforms
  • Understand enterprise database design and create OMD diagrams to detail proposed solutions

Experience & Certifications

  • 5+ years Salesforce configuration experience
  • Salesforce certifications: Required: Admin, Preferred: Advanced Admin, Sales/Service Consultant, Pardot, and Platform App Builder.
  • Experience with ETL’s such as Talend or Jitterbit
  • Confident building solutions with Flow, Process Builder, Workflow, and DLRS
